Categories of Users

The Board of Education recognizes that the nature and purpose of an organization requesting the use of the facilities should be considered in establishing rates and fees for use of school facilities. The following are District-recognized categories of users:

Use of District facilities by a Park District or Department will be controlled by an Intergovernmental Agreement between the District, the Park District or Department and any other pertinent governmental bodies. The Board of Education recognizes that cafeterias and gymnasiums, because of the distinct nature of their use in the educational program, require specific regulation governing their use.

Additional Guidelines

  1. Cafeteria kitchen facilities and equipment for complete cooking and preparation of meals shall be used only for the regular school program and professionally affiliated educational groups, utilizing cafeteria personnel.
  2. Cafeteria kitchen facilities and equipment, when used for other than the complete cooking and preparation of meals (with the exception of coffee makers), shall require the presence of a member of the school cafeteria personnel staff, except with permission of the Building Principal.
  3. Organizations using the gymnasium, which are primarily interested in an adult athletic program, will exclude all pupils (elementary, middle, and senior high) from participating in the activities.
