• Define a play-based learning instructional model for all-day Kindergarten that supports the core curriculum.

Complete a data analysis to evaluate student academic growth in the continuum of services for Special Education and complete a program assessment with a multi-year plan for recommended action items.
Identify potential pilot learning structures for student enrichment and draft a recommended plan to support the needs of students seeking enrichment.

• Create guides for internal and external stakeholders identifying the communication channels supported by the district and the purpose of each tool.
• Launch the Kaneland CUSD #302 official app through Finalsite and communicate directions on use to stakeholders.
• Gather feedback on communication channels and the Kaneland CUSD #302 app to help refine usage.

2027-28: 

• Determine which, if any, of the additional functions of the Kaneland CUSD #302 app to implement and provide any training or communication required.
• Use feedback from internal and external stakeholders to adjust the use of communication channels and strategies.

2028-29

• Monitor and evaluate established systems under this subtopic and adjust as needed.

2026-27:

• Evaluate data on family attendance at school events geared towards families including but not limited to Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and other community engagement nights to establish baseline involvement and develop goals.
• Seek feedback from parent groups on other opportunities to engage and educate families in the community on topics of interest.
• Seek feedback from parent groups and staff on ways parents can effectively volunteer in the school.

2027-28

• Engage strategies to increase family attendance at school events geared towards families and evaluate success.
• Develop and implement a calendar to family engagement events based on feedback at the building and district level track attendance and use exit surveys to provide feedback.
• Pilot parent volunteer programs and gather feedback from parents and staff on the effectiveness of the programs.

2028-29

• Continue to refine the family engagement event calendar using feedback from attendees.  Identify key events that get the highest level of engagement to focus on.
• Systemetize parent volunteer programs and continue to monitor the success based on feedback from volunteers and staff.

2029-30

• Monitor and evaluate established systems under this subtopic and adjust as needed.

2026-27

• Identify key community events for school administrative personnel to have a formal or informal presence at, develop a system to ensure attendance.
• Examine what events and channels of communication help engage municipal officials in understanding and supporting the work of the school district.  Seek feedback to ensure that current practices align with their needs.
• Use feedback from community surveys, engagement of municipal leaders, web-based metrics of engagement ,and engagement of community members to examine channels of communication that reach community members without a direct tie to the school district.
• Implement the Together We Build communications strategy to share construction progress, financial information, and the impact of the referendum related construction.

2027-28

• Review and revise the calendar of community events attended by administrative personnel and examine the role of the attendee at the events.
• Review and revise stakeholder events to improve engagement with municipal leaders, organizations that support youth (sports, arts, volunteer, etc), and other community groups.  Gather feedback on the effectiveness of the process.
• Pilot new channels of communication designed to inform community members without direct ties to the district about the school district.

• Using feedback from stakeholders, plan and host one large event aimed at engaging the entire community on one of the Kaneland campuses.  Evaluate the success of the event.
• Using feedback from stakeholders, implement strategies to encourage community attendance at scheduled school events.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the pilot channels and determine which ones to continue and which to discontinue. 
• Examine and revise communication strategies designed to inform community members without direct ties to the district about the school district.

2029-30

• Seek feedback to examine what changes need to be made to the website in terms of layout and content.
• Examine and revise strategies to encourage community attendance at scheduled school events.

2030-31

• Make changes to the district website that align with feedback from the community to increase ease of use and transparency.
