Here at Kaneland we believe that every child deserves a healthy, fresh, favorable selection of choices.  We encourage our students to make good choices. Our lunches are made in house by our Food Service staff.

We provide free & reduced lunches and milk for those students unable to pay under the Illinois Free Lunch and Special Milk Programs.  To receive free lunches and milk for your child, you must complete an application and return it to school. Applications for free lunch must be renewed each year. These applications are available annually in July.

We offer online registration for students entering kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Physical Exam: The Illinois School Code requires that children entering preschool, kindergarten (or first grade if kindergarten was not attended) and sixth grade must have had a physical exam within one year prior to starting that grade level. Students of any age transferring from a school outside Illinois must also have had a physical within the last year. School Physical Form

Immunizations: The Illinois Department of Public Health requires specific immunizations for students enrolling in public schools.

Our goal is to provide safe, efficient and appropriate transportation services for all eligible students. We currently operate a fleet of 55 buses that are maintained by two mechanics.

Kaneland offers Early Childhood Screening for residents of the district.  Milestones that are checked include speech, hearing, vision, and motor skills. If you reside within the Kaneland School District, and suspect that your child(ren) ages 2.9 months & older have any delays in developmental milestones, you are encouraged to attend one of our quarterly screenings.

We also offer Pre-K program for district children ages 3-5. Find out more about EC/Pre-K.

Kaneland provides a full continuum of special education services to meet the needs of students between the ages of 3 and 21.

A McKinney-Vento eligible child is one who lacks a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime living situation. In general, children or youth living in motels, transitional housing, shelters, the streets, cars, abandoned buildings, and other inadequate accommodations.

This act ensures certain educational right to homeless children.  Pursuant to McKinney-Vento all school districts must have in place a liaison for homeless children and youth.
