This course is focused on creating the Pennon, the Kaneland High School yearbook. Students will design all the pages, write all the stories and choose all of the pictures for the yearbook. In addition, they will study terminology related to those subjects, design trends and writing techniques. They will be responsible for setting and meeting deadlines, working within a budget, selling the book, managing the sales data, and using desktop publishing software. Students will work with teams in the class, and with school personnel, publisher representatives and professional photographers as needed to produce the school yearbook. (Elective course does not meet the 3 credit English requirements.)
