This page was designed to highlight our track and field program.  We are very proud of the athletic tradition in our school.  Kaneland High School was opened in 1958, and has approximately1050 students.  In that short span of time, a lot of great athletes have graced the oval surface. We have had two Class A State Championship teams (1975, 1977), a Class A 2nd place team (1976), two Class A 3rd place teams (1990, 1999) and 10 Class A top ten finishes.  We have had 219 individual qualifiers, 54 relay team qualifiers, 65 individuals place and 25 relay teams place. There have also been 11 individual state champs, 2 relay teams that were state champs. Among them are Super Bowl Champ Don Beebe who finished 2nd in the 200 meter dash in 1983 and Mark Claypool who held the state record at 47.2 for Class A schools in the 400 meter dash.
The pages that follow were researched and compiled not only to provide motivation to our current athletes, but to instill pride and respect for the tradition of excellence that they carry on today.
