Cosmetology I

Grades: 11, 12

Prerequisites: None.

Credits: 3 Credits

Description: Cosmetology I is divided into several units of study that include hair shaping, hair styling, draping, shampooing, blow dry styling, manicuring, facials, waving, and sanitation. Chemistry and professional ethics will be taught in conjunction with the above units. Laboratory work and classroom instruction help students learn theory required for licensing.

NOTE: Students are required to furnish their own transportation to the training schools, buy uniforms, shoes, cosmetology kit, and pay the required registration and lab fees. Student costs will average $3000 subject to change depending upon kit costs, compared to $16,000 in costs if not enrolled through FVCC.
