Students have an opportunity to learn a wide variety of computer technology skills. Computer technology provides a variety of related experiences designed for entry into the job market or continued education. All students gain practical hands-on experiences using state-of-the-art computer technology systems.

Experience

Ms. Schwein began teaching at Fox Valley Career Center in 2002. Prior to Fox Valley, Ms. Schwein taught for various colleges and universities including New York University, McHenry County College, Elgin Community College, and Waubonsee Community College where she developed 10 new course offerings and 4 new certificates of achievement. Additionally, Ms. Schwein has worked as a instructional design consultant for eHigherEducation, a subsidiary of Eastern Michigan University.

In addition to her teaching experience, Ms. Schwein has diverse practical work experience.

Responsibilities

Ms. Schwein works with students to help them acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the field of Information Technology. She helps students understand the importance of quality customer service while helping them to grow in all areas of professional development. Ms. Schwein encourages students to consider their personal and professional goals and reminds them to work each day toward achieving those goals. She provides a realistic look at opportunities available after high school and promotes the concept of continuing education either in the form of apprenticeship programs, community colleges, or technical schools.

Ms. Schwein serves as Faculty Advisor for the Fox Valley Chapter of SkillsUSA.
