Earn College Credit

Fox Valley Career Center maintains a strong relationship with Waubonsee Community College, (WCC). WCC awards college credit (articulation) for some course when learning experiences at the high school level duplicate those at the college level. Elgin Community College, (ECC), has begun to offer articulated credit in some program areas as well. Articulated credit enables students to:

  • Receive advanced course placement upon entering college
  • Save time and money
  • Avoid duplication of curriculum already learned in high school

The College of DuPage, (COD), awards dual credit to students enrolled in the Fox Valley Career Center graphics program.

Be sure to check with your home-school counselor or contact FVCC if you have questions about which of the FVCC programs offer articulation and/or dual credit.

Articulation:

Students must earn an A or B in the high school class and apply for credit within two years after graduation. (WCC charges $5 per credit hour earned at the time of application.)

Refer to program descriptions to determine which programs qualify for college credit.

Dual credit:
Students earn college credit as they earn their high school credits. A college transcript is automatically on file at College of DuPage. There is no grade requirement, therefore, the grade earned at FVCC is the grade which appears on the student's COD transcript. At the present time, only the Graphics Communication and Law Enforcement programs offer dual credit.
