Automotive Technology students have the opportunity to develop skills necessary to obtain employment in the automobile industry. An automobile technician services and repairs mechanical, electrical, and computer driven parts on different types of automotive equipment. After making the necessary inspections and tests to determine the causes of the faulty operation, the technician then replaces the defective parts to restore the vehicle to the proper operating condition. |

University Experience Mr. Hansen has been teaching in the Kaneland district since 1999. He has taught computer technology, electronics, small engines, welding, and automotive for Fox Valley Career Center as well as CAD and drafting for Kaneland High School. Prior to this, Mr. Hansen taught woods and intro to technology at Nequa Valley High School. Responsibilities Mr. Hansen helps students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to work in the automotive field. This not only includes technical instruction but work place skills such as teamwork and problem solving.
