Alumni Challenge:
The Race for One Thousand Dollars
During the 2008-09 school year, Kaneland High School will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary with a variety of events.
One of these events has kicked off as the Alumni Celebration committee places a challenge on each graduating class from the past fifty years: Collect at least $1,000.00 per class.
Past alumni have already been hard at work raffling off items to raise money for their respected classes. The money raised for each class will be divided between an Alumni Legacy Fund to be used to enrich programs at Kaneland and an Alumni Association Fund to support the establishment of the Association.
To date, celebratory events will include a spectacular Homecoming Weekend starting with the Homecoming Football game against DeKalb and ending with a dinner/dance at the Duke Ellington Ballroom at Northern Illinois University. A “Pack the Place” night, Fine Arts Festival and Convocation, 5k Run and a golf outing are also in the works.
Which class will raise One Thousand Dollars first? Which class will raise the largest amount? The gauntlet has been thrown, the challenge placed – Go Knights!
