Principal Rebecca Dahn
Principal's Welcome
Kaneland John Stewart Elementary School was opened in the Fall of 1998. Our current enrollment of about 615 students includes Kindergarten- Fifth grades, 2 sections of Early Childhood education classes for students with special needs, and two Mid Valley Special Education Cooperative Classes. Students in grades K-5 study language arts, math, science and health, social studies, physical education, literacy, computer applications, art, and music. Throughout the year our children participate in choral and band concerts, field trips, and many other opportunities to explore their world in and out of the classroom.
Each year, our 3rd-5th grade students take the Illinois Standard Achievement Test (ISAT), which measures academic achievement among all students in Illinois. We are proud that our students consistently perform above the state average on the ISAT for students meeting or exceeding state standards. This year our school improvement goals are focused on our balanced literacy program, technology, and character education.
Our Parent Teacher Network (PTN) is a great organization made up of parents and teachers that support our students with programs, volunteerism, and fundraising.
