John Stewart Elementary Named to State Honor Roll

Kaneland John Stewart Elementary School has been named a 2009 Illinois Honor Roll school. The award recognizes schools with high performance levels on state tests. Specifically, 90% of students must meet or exceed state standards in both reading and mathematics for at least 3 consecutive years, and the student attendance rate must be 90% or higher. Veterans' day 2009

The students at KST had a Veterans Day assembly first thing in the morning on Wednesday November 11th. Students met out at the flag pole while some of our local veterans from the American Legion spoke and presented about Veterans' Day. The processional was lead by several KST Boy Scouts as they carried and raised the flag.

First Parent-Principal Coffee

KST will host our first grade level parent-principal coffee on Friday, November 13 from 9:30-10:30 am and 1:00-2:00 pm. The first coffee is intended for kindergarten parents. Coffees for other grade levels will occur on future dates. Please see the attached flyer for more specific information regarding dates and times.

The coffees will consist of an informal time of sharing and discussion about parents' experiences and their children's experiences at John Stewart.
