General Policy Statement
The Krier has been operating as an open-forum Tinker school since 1974 and student editors make all decisions pertaining to the Krier (content, business, advertising, etc.). As a Tinker publication, we restrict editing to staff members only; prior review and editing by people outside the staff is prohibited. Krier Online has been operating in the same fashion since 2002. The Kaneland News Bureau, founded in 1974, likewise follows the same policies in preparing its submissions for the local press.
Editorial Policy Statement
Editorials in the hard-copy Krier and online represent a majority opinion of the Editorial Board and aren't necessarily the opinion of Kaneland administration, staff, students, parents, advertisers, or community members. Other opinion material represents the signed author's views. All opinion submissions for the Krier are evaluated and voted upon by the Krier editorial board, which consists of Advanced Journalistic Studies students, who are second-year journalism students, and Advanced Placement English Language and Composition students, who are third-year journalism students. KNB submissions are evaluated and approved by the Kaneland News Bureau editor-in-chief or another executive staff member, in his or her absence.
