A casual country atmosphere with apple accents greets you at Apple Villa, a Batavia pancake house with delicious signature dishes.
The wait was less than five minutes on a Saturday morning, and the extensive menu features a wide range of breakfast classics, but all of them are available with a signature “Apple Villa” twist. The Apple Villa French Toast, for example, comes topped with a crispy apple-cinnamon glaze. The restaurant offers lunch and dinner too, with typical entrees such as sandwiches, soups, burgers, salads and wraps, all of which is reasonably priced.
Their famous bowl-shaped German Pancake comes out on a huge platter and is one of their specialities. The taste is a little plain, but the powdered sugar sprinkled delicately on top helps give it a sweet taste, almost like a Swedish pancake.
The Eggs Benedict, which is two poached eggs with Canadian bacon on a toasted English muffin and drizzled with hollandaise sauce, was tantalizing, soft and moist. It came served with hash browns that needed salt.
We took an order of the heavenly Swedish pancakes home; they were more flavorful than other Swedish pancakes I’ve had.
Overall, Apple Villa is delicious family restaurant. Next time you’re with the family, pay it a visit.
