Basketball Conference Champs in 8th Grade

The First Place Prairie Conference Tournament Trophy is sitting in the trophy case as a culmination to a very successful season. Not only did the members of the 8th Grade Basketball team go undefeated in Prairie Conference regular season play, they won three tournament games convincingly. Congratulations to Coach Overhaug and all team members on a very successful season and we look forward to continued success in Track this spring, as well as at Kaneland High School in all extra-curricular activities.

Christmas for the Troops and Kaneland Harter's 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team

The 8th grade basketball players and their parents will be at the Batavia VFW Saturday December 1o from 10:00 a.m. till ? participating in a very honorable event. We will be preparing care packages for our troops overseas. These packages will be the closest thing to the Christmas most of them will see. We strongly encourage you to join our team for this cause.

Do to the seriousness we must make this a parent/student event, one that you your child and several service members will remember for a lifetime. If you can’t give time but would like to teach your child the importance of participating in this event you may do so by bringing to school one or more of the listed items our soldiers miss or need the most. Drop off is anytime before Friday December 9, 2011 at 5:00p.m.

A note will be placed in each package stating Kaneland Harter Middle School students and their parents appreciate what they are doing and look forward to their safe return with the Harter Middle School email address.

If you would like a deployed soldier to receive a package I need their name, rank, unit address including APO or FPO with an approximate month of return from deployment sent to dmrobertsen@aol.com by Friday night. Go to www.fvts.org to see the impact you and your family will make.

Wrestling Information

Wrestling practice is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 11. Athletes are reminded they must have a current physical and insurance waiver on file in order to participate. Athletes that participated in a fall sport will have already provided a copy of their physical and can disregard this request. Athletes will be required to pay an $80 athletic fee to participate. Interested in seeing NIU Football and Supporting Kaneland Harter's Football Program

Forms are available in the athletic department for all interested individuals to purchase tickets to the NIU Football game with Western Michigan at 2:30. A $13 ticket will give you admission to see one of the best college football teams in the MAC conference and a portion of ticket price will be returned to the Kaneland Harter Middle School Football Program. Sycamore Football Games

The Kaneland Harter Football teams at both grades will play their traditional games with Sycamore next Tuesday, Sept 27 at Sycamore High School. The 7th Grade game is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 and the 8th grade game will kick off 10 minutes following the conclusion of the 7th grade game. An estimated time would be around 6:30. Come support the Knights in Sycamore.

The home meets for Sept. 13 and 15 are at Kaneland High School. The course will be located behind the old Kaneland Middle School and there is parking north of the school.
