Save the Date

All members of the incoming Class of 2016 are invited to join us on Tuesday, August 7th from 8 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for IgKnight 2012. This day is to acquaint students with basic policies and ease the transition to Kaneland High School. No other orientation will be held. Administration, Counselors, Teachers and upperclassmen in Peer Leadership will be on hand to share information to begin a successful Kaneland High School career.

Students may take a bus from several locations within the Kaneland Community to Freshman Orientation Day ((see the PDF attachment for stop information). A schedule of pick up and drop off locations and times is posted on the KHS website. Students will be taken to the auditorium entrance by the buses.

Students will be given copies of their schedule, locker number and combination for use throughout the day.

During IgKnight, students will be placed into groups with approximately 10 other incoming freshman. Each student will be assigned to a group for this day and Fuel activities throughout the school year. Students will receive their group when they arrive at KHS on August 7. These groups will spend the day together working on both team building activities as well as learning the Knight Way of being a high school student. The Class of 2016 work together on the ropes team building course.

The ropes course will take place outside, weather permitting. Please dress appropriately for outside activities. Shorts, pants, and appropriate shoes required. No skirts or flip flops. If the weather is inclement, the activities will take place in the gym.

Lunch will be provided.

Attendance at IgKnight 2012 is strongly encouraged. No other orientation will be held. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the high school at 630-365-5100.
