Career Clusters, Career Pathways, and Programs of Study Power Point!

What are Career Clusters?

Career Clusters are groups of occupations and industries that have in common a set of foundational knowledge and skills. There are 16 nationally recognized clusters, within which are multiple career pathways.

What are Career Pathways?

Career Pathways are multi-year programs of academic and technical study that prepare students for a full range of postsecondary options within each of the 16 clusters. Currently, there are 81 nationally recognized pathways, each with specific pathway knowledge and skills.

What are Programs of Study (POS)?

Programs of Study are sequences of courses that incorporate a non-duplicative progression of secondary and postsecondary elements which include both academic and CTE content, curriculum alignment to challenging standards, rigorous content, and lead to the attainment of an industry recognized credential, certificate, or degree. 6th Grade Band Registration

5th grade band students are signing up NOW for 6th grade band. This week all current 5th band students received an registration invitation for 6th grade band from Mr. Zielinski (6th band instructor). The 2nd page of the packet must be returned to Ms. Satterfield or the elementary office indicating if the students will or will not be continuing next year. 2010 Wrestling Awards night

Tuesday March 16th

6:00 pm in the cafeteria

Potluck dinner (Each family is asked to bring a dish to pass according to the age of their wrestler)

Senior: Salads- ex: pasta salads, bean salads, etc.

Junior: Side Dish - vegetables, casseroles, beans or potatoes.

Sophmores: dessert

Freshman: main dish or meat dish

Bring your own place settings including glasses or cups. Beverages (water and gatorade) will be provided.

Wrestlers.....Be sure to bring any wrestling gear you have not turned in already.

HOT Degree! A new degree and a new division of the health-related administrative office courses at Waubonsee

Beginning in the fall we will have a Health Information Technology (HIT) curriculum that will encompass certificates in Medical Transcription, Medical Office, and Health Care Coding along with a degree in Health Information Technology Associate in Applied Science degree. The courses and certificates were formerly "housed" in the Administrative Office Systems (AOS) curriculum. Attached is general information on the program. More »
